It’s that time of year again… Christmas Gift knitting! As much as I adore making unique knit/crochet pieces for my loved ones, it can be so time consuming, especially if you have a long list of people to gift to. This year I decided to make an incredibly simple and quick seed stitch cowl/scarf for both my mom and my mother-in-law. I love this solution because all you need to know is the knit stitch, the purl stitch, and how to seam at the end. Very beginner friendly! And no need to remember which row of a long repeat you left off on (I almost always screw this up).

The best part is, by combining two different types of yarn, I was able to create a soft and flowy (but still plushy) piece that will keep them cozy through the winter and looks very luxe/chic (in my humble opinion). Find the pattern below to get started on yours!

Instructions
Row 1: Using long tail cast on, co 41 sts. This simple cowl is made using the classic seed stitch, which works over an odd number of stitches. To modify yours, simply use any odd number. [41 sts]
Row 2: K1, P1 across to last stitch. K1 to end the row. [41 sts]
Row 3+: Repeat row 2 until work measures 21″ long.
Finishing: Bind off “in pattern” (following K1, P1 across). Seam together using mattress stitch or preferred seam.
